Jennifer Filbert
A
local Washingtonian, Jennifer grew up in Puyallup,
Washington and graduated from Puyallup High School.
Jennifer graduated from the University of Washington in
2004 with a B.S. in Mathematics. Following her
graduation from UW, Jennifer spent a year at a financial
planning and insurance brokerage firm in Redmond, Kempf
& Company, before beginning law school at Seattle
University School of Law.
During law school, Jennifer participated in Moot Court
competitions and worked as a legal intern for a solo
practitioner at the Law Office of Michael J. Rasch. She
also represented indigent criminal defendants in
Bellevue and Redmond as a Rule 9 legal intern for Stein,
Lotzkar & Starr, P.S. The highlight of Jennifer’s law
school career was a full-time externship with the
Honorable Ronald Leighton at the United States District
Court in Tacoma. As an extern, Jennifer had the
opportunity to assist Judge Leighton when he sat by
designation on a three-judge panel for the Ninth Circuit
Court of Appeals.
After graduating with honors from Seattle University Law
School in 2008, Jennifer was hired as a Rule 9 legal
intern with Padula & Associates where she assists our
attorneys with legal research and writing, and
represents clients at court appearances pursuant to APR
9. When Jennifer is not vigorously defending her
clients’ rights, Jennifer can be found running trails
with her dog or enjoying her free time with her fiancé,
family and friends. Jennifer takes advantage of many of
Washington’s outdoor activities including snowboarding,
hiking, camping, and white-water canoeing. |
